 Not what it is advertised but slightly helpful if you are a beginner at cupping.  Very good Naturopathic approach. Unfortunately,I was not aware that this book was not written from a TCM perspective.They book provides treatment suggestions for different pathologies.  This information is very useful in my own practice.  I expected much more than this book delivered in fact. It provided too little on this topic.Mainly considerig a very high price for purchasing it. If the price were 10 dollars it would be enough but is was five times more.  Good buy. Impressed with content. It’s a small book and a bit expensive but I am happy with my purchase.  This book was a bit of disappointment. I was expecting a little more from a publisher like Thieme who publish great medical books. I guess they relax their standards on alternative therapies…The book is based on western theories about cupping, almost completely disregarding traditional chinese medicine. A little odd, because TCM is one of the main domains of dry cupping. The text is undefinitive and raises more questions than it answers. The writing style is confusing which may be the result of translation from german, but only partly.Treatment patterns are given for many common illnesses, but the cupping point selection is mostly left unexplained and without any solid motivation. Additionally, each pattern contains advice about alternative and supplemental treatment. These advice are a complete waste of paper which should have been used for elaborating the cupping treatment.The photographs in the book should have been replaced with good-quality drawings. Photographs are seldom suited for this kind of information, at least a pro should take them.The book seems to be the author’s personal notebook on the subject of cupping and other alternative therapies.  Well written, nicely illustrated, detailed and easy to follow. Highly reccomended!  I’m really loving this informative book on an art that is not well known an there’s limited material available . I’m using it for self healing as a guide .  Very Good product.
