I really like this book because of the way that it is organized and how it gives the details of an illness, disease, or injury in layman’s terms for a beginning billing and coding student like me. It includes the procedures that doctors commonly use to treat a patient and what the patient should or should not do to help themselves. It makes it easier for me to look for codes in relation to what the doctor has written and what I should get clarification about on a procedure for coding purposes.Caution: The illustrations are kind of graphic, so if you have a queasy stomach…you have been warned.

Patient advisor is a great guide for anyone in the health studies, it’s also good for students that are starting to get the grip on how things work and it’s easily understandable, makes the reading and communication “smoother” it avoids getting too technical so the terms feel more adequate when explained.

This is by far the best thing I have spent money on for patient teaching. Print this out for patients and it tells them the basics and goes a little deeper. It allows me to type some stuff out on the second page to personalize. The top 500 plus medical diagnosis for family practice and I can’t ask for anything more.
